Mass Breakdown

The rocket's total mass is carefully distributed to ensure stability. The Aerotech K-class motor makes up a significant portion of the liftoff weight.

Altitude Projection

Simulations project an apogee of 4,442 ft, providing a healthy margin above the 4,300 ft target to account for real-world flight conditions.

Project Timeline & Flight Profile

Simulated Flight Profile

The flight simulation shows a rapid ascent, reaching apogee in approximately 16 seconds. The dual-deployment recovery system ensures a controlled descent and safe landing.

Key Milestones

Phase 1: Design & Planning

Sept - Nov 2025

Finalize CAD models, complete simulations, and submit the Preliminary Design Review (PDR).

Phase 2: Manufacturing

Dec 2025 - Jan 2026

Fabricate all airframe and payload components. Integrate subsystems and submit the Critical Design Review (CDR).

Phase 3: Testing

Feb - Mar 2026

Conduct recovery system drop tests, full-scale avionics tests, and a low-power test launch.

Phase 4: Launch

April 2026

Final preparations and travel for the official NASA SLI competition launch in Huntsville, AL.

Mission Budget Allocation

Total Budget: $2,500

The project is backed by a lean and effective budget. Propulsion, covering the high-power motors for testing and final launch, represents the largest expense. A 12% contingency fund is reserved for unforeseen costs, ensuring the mission stays on track financially.

Funding is secured through a combination of school grants, corporate sponsorships, and community fundraising initiatives.
